“Seasons change and mad things rearrange”
– Lauryn Hill
Sneaker water proofer is definitely
needed during these rainy months. Almost most of them will work great on your
kicks. Good waterproof spray brands are the sprays currently at FinishLine,
FootLocker, Champs, and the Kiwi brand at Walmart.
Directions on waterproofing your shoe
like poof!
- Spray your
desired kick holding the spray can at least 6 inches away from your shoe,
- Slowly
rotate your shoe following step 1 until your whole shoe is coated with the
water proof.
- Let your
kicks dry!
VIOLA!
You will know that the water proofer is
working when the rain hits your shoe and the water is beading up in small dots.
Well at least that happens when you’re wearing leather/patent leather kicks. I suggest you do
not wear suede/nu buck in the rain PERIOD!
To be honest you shouldn’t wear any of
your kicks in the rain!
Why?
Any white on your shoes consisting of leather and or rubber will turn yellow. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but they will soon if you keep continuously wearing them in the rain. Just leaving white rubber in the sunlight could yellow and fall apart. The oxidation process is no joke.
You should have a nice go to rain boot so
you can still stunt in the rain. Now listen I’m not a complete boot fanatic but
I have my all black Timberlands 6 inch style and a nice Nike ACG Hot Lava boot
with the royal blue swoosh and caramel taupe camel like color. I’m working on getting
one or two more boots for the rain/winter. These Midwest winters are a MUTHA
and to sit and wait for months on in to wear some nice kicks are hell. So I
made the decision to go outside of my Timbs and opt to get a Nike ACG boot. Don’t
get me wrong other brands make some nice boots too. North Face makes some nice
boots on top of that they are a winter wear outdoor company so all the science
of protecting your feet in the cold is wrapped in that price of a North Face.
Until next time, SIGNING OFF!
